- Warning to AOL, CompuServe and Dellnet Users! The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has determined that proprietary browsers (including, but not limited to AOL, CompuServe and Dellnet) do not work reliably with our Web application. However, using Netscape (version 4.5 or higher) or Internet Explorer (version 5.5 or higher) instead of your proprietary browser will work. If you are using a proprietary browser, please minimize it and reconnect to the Undergraduate Admissions page using your Netscape or Internet Explorer browser.
- Scan through the entire Web application. There may be some items that require you to gather information not readily at hand.
- Once you are logged in, the application automatically saves the information you have already entered as you move between pages. Once you begin the online application, DO NOT use the “Back” and/or “Forward” buttons on your Internet browser. Instead, use the “Next” and/or “Previous” buttons provided at the bottom of each page of the application.
- If you are applying from a public terminal, you need to properly quit the application, or others may be able to access your information. Make sure to either fully submit an application or use the provided button to quit the application. Then close all open windows of the Web browser you are using.
- Verify that your Social Security number is correct. Unless you specify otherwise once you enroll, it will be your UGA student identification number and is required to match your application to official test scores, transcripts and other documents, including Financial Aid Application forms. Note: The most common cause of processing and file completion delays is an incorrect or missing Social Security number.
- Verify the accuracy of the semester in which you wish to enroll, as well as the Application Type, School/College and Intended Major. If these are left blank, the respective default selections will be as follows: Fall, Transfer, Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, Unspecified.
- If you need to leave the application and return to it at a later time, use the “SAVE AND QUIT” option at the bottom of the application page. This feature saves all the information you have already provided on the application form.
- Print a copy of your completed online application before you submit it. If you have correctly completed your application, you will receive an immediate response (Application Success page) upon submitting your application.
- After you have successfully completed your Web application, you should see a confirmation page that includes your name, term, application type and some further information. If you do not see this confirmation page within a minute, you should return (via the Back button) to your application page and submit again.
- Submit an official transcript from all colleges or universities attended since graduation from high school (or the equivalent), even if no credit was earned. If you completed coursework for college credit as a high school student, you must also submit an official transcript from the collegiate institution(s) that awarded you credit. All official transcripts must be submitted by the appropriate deadline. UGA will not accept unofficial or fax copies of transcripts. Note: Summer transients must submit a completed application, non-refundable $50.00 processing fee, and an official letter or other proof of good standing—such as an official transcript—from their home institution by the May 1 deadline.
- The easiest method of paying the non-refundable $50 Application Processing Fee is online. Once you have successfully submitted your Web application, you will be directed to the Application Fee Payment Page . If you intend to use this payment option, please have your credit card information handy before your begin the Web application. Both the application and the non-refundable Application Processing Fee must be submitted by the appropriate application deadline. Web applications will not be processed until the required fee has been submitted.
- International students should visit our International Admissions Web site for additional information on admission requirements and any necessary supplemental forms.
- If you need to make a change to a current application or to update an inactive application you submitted less than one year ago, do not send a second application. Please use the Information Change Form .
