Words I use to describe the UGA community are:
Wisdom, service, excellence, spirit, compassion
If I had to offer one piece of advice for incoming students about living
and learning in the UGA community, it would be:
Take advantage of the learning opportunities offered at UGA: become acquainted
with the excellent faculty and press yourself to grow intellectually.
How is diversity best expressed at UGA?
Members of the UGA community boast a wide range of backgrounds, beliefs,
experiences, interests, and areas of expertise. This diversity is well
served by the range of academic majors offered, the popularity of study
abroad opportunities, and a plethora of cultural programs and events
on campus. The effects of this diversity can be observed in classrooms
where professors encourage students to think in new, creative ways
as well as in the intellectual contributions produced by university
scholars. As such, diversity is a boon to intellectual growth at UGA,
contributing to deeper understanding, heightened tolerance, and appreciation
for the differences of others. |
