Please read the information below before proceeding to the Orientation reservation process.

Transfer Orientation - Purpose

You will begin your UGA adventure at Transfer Orientation, a one-day program designed to prepare you for a successful beginning to your UGA experience. This program will give you a head-start in learning how to take full advantage of the many educational, social, and cultural opportunities awaiting you at UGA.

At Orientation, you will meet with your assigned academic advisor and register for your first semester classes. You also will have the opportunity to meet future classmates, purchase your UGA Card student ID, hear from faculty and staff about opportunities and expectations, tour the campus, and discuss additional questions or concerns with student Orientation Leaders.

Cost

The cost for attending a Transfer Orientation session is $40. The $40 Orientation fee is non-refundable.This fee covers the expense of lunch, campus transportation, printed Orientation materials, and administrative costs.

Lodging

If you are traveling a great distance to attend Orientation, you may stay at the Georgia Center on the UGA campus the night before your assigned session. Information on local hotel accommodations is available through the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Parents

Parents are invited and encouraged to attend the same Orientation session as their student.

IMPORTANT:  Signing up for Orientation will incur a $40 charge to your student account that must be paid.  This is a registration and reservation fee.  It is the student’s responsibility to reconcile this fee regardless of attendance or enrollment at the University of Georgia.
